Partridge Horse Hill

Training Contract

This agreement is in regards to the horse/pony owned and described:

  1. AGREEMENT: This agreement is for the service of a training package at Partridge Horse Hill (PHH) for the horse /pony listed in paragraph one (1).
  2. SERVICE PROVIDED:  Horse Training sessions provided by PHH staff which may include Lindsey Partridge, Franny Galvin-Hynes, or other staff suitable to assist with training (Primarily sessions will be with Franny under the guidance of Lindsey). The horse will be trained 14-16 sessions per month provided the horse is boarded for the full month (does not arrive late or leave early).  Training includes Happy Essentials Boarding: daily maintenance and keep of the horse/pony kept at the farm (includes hay, free choice salt/minerals, water, and shelter). There are additional options for boarding to include daily grain feedings which are detailed in ‘costs’ #5. Large group turnout (10+ horses), small group (less than 5), private turnout, or semi private turnout can be arranged. Please specify your preference here:  Your request will try to be accomodated, however if large/small group turnout is full (or if your horse is not getting along well) your horse may need to be in private/semi private turnout.
  3. DATES OF SERVICE: Please request your preferred start month, number of months, and training goal here. We will confirm via email the start date available. If you are requesting your horse to be started under saddle, we recommend two months of training. If your horse needs a ‘tune up’ with some confidence building, learning to jump/ride obstacles, or be started under saddle but already knows a lot of ground work then usually 1 month works nicely. If your horse has severe behavioural issues (kicks out at people, bolts, bucks, etc) we recommend 3 months We will confirm the available month(s) with you after we receive your contract. You can then submit your deposit to hold your spot if the month(s) we have available work for you.
  4. COSTS: $780/month+HST which includes Happy Essentials board. Additional options for board are posted below, please select the option that best suits you. It is encouraged to take lessons to learn more with your horse. You can buy a Lesson pass which gives you 4hrs of private lessons with any coach at PHH (but recommended to book with the trainer), as well auditing at any clinics with Lindsey happening that month at PHH. Add the Lesson Pass: To upgrade lessons to be with Lindsey, please email us to confirm availability and additional cost.
A $100/mth+HST non refundable deposit is required to hold your training spot.
The remaining payment will be made to Lindsey Partridge or Partridge Horse Hill via cheque, cash, or online interac payment (to or paypal to  by the 1st of the calendar month. Overdue fees will be charged at an interest rate of 10%/month. If you are staying for more than 1 month of training board, you can pay each month on the 1st (you do not need to pay for all months at one time).
The Inn Keepers Act is posted in the barn and all boarders must read and understand this act before signing this agreement.
Boarded horses may use stalls on an as needed basis and boarders are responsible to clean up after their horse, and care for their horse while using a stall. If the boarder stalls the horse more than 5 times in a month, the boarder will purchase additional shavings for the stall. In the event of horse injury or sickness, PHH will cover the labour costs of maintaining a horse in a stall for up to a period of 1 week if deemed necessary by a veterinary subject to staff availability. After such time the horse must return to outdoor board, or pay additional fees of $75/week to cover the labour & shavings costs. All prices add HST.
In the event your horse becomes injured/ill and is unable to complete training, we will connect about alternative options which may include lessons using one of our lesson horses, or substituting another horse for training. No refunds are given.
The service needs to be completed within the month. It is the owner’s responsibility to have the horse at the farm for the month of training, if the horse arrives late or leaves early, the number of training sessions will be fewer.

Please choose from the following boarding packages and options:

These are the board packages explained:
